Attendance

Attendance is a critical part of your child’s education. Our school day begins at 9:00 am and dismissal begins at 3:25 pm. If your child is going to be late or leave early for an appointment, please send a note to the main office. A note is required for all absences. Parents should submit notes to the main office through your child's classroom teacher. Notes can also be emailed to ljarczyk@cheektowagasloan.org If you know your student will be absent in advance, a prearranged note should be submitted to the main office. If your child is going to be out sick or for any other reason, we ask that you contact our nurse’s office at 716-891-6425 or the main office at 716-891-6424.

If your child routinely misses school, please expect to receive a letter in the mail, and a phone call from someone on our attendance team, which meets monthly. If you are having difficulty getting your child to school, we are here to help. We can schedule a meeting to help support your family and improve your child’s attendance. Again, attendance plays a very important role in your child’s academic success and sets a strong foundation for positive habits.
